In traditional medicine, ginseng is perhaps a herbal material most widely known by various societies. Ginseng is very popular because it is always associated with benefits as a ”tonic.”
Do not be surprised if all the manufacturers of the drugs always make use of ginseng in promoting their products. Something less known is the use of ginseng which is so much more than just for the ”strong medicine”.
Consuming ginseng also should not be arbitrary reasoning the characteristics of ”hot”. It should be more careful in consuming ginseng for individuals with excessive yangqi content in his body. It would not be treating the individuals but bringing about them unwanted health problems.
Some of the benefits of ginseng are:
* For sleep disorders: steamed ginseng, then chop and mix (in equal measure) with orange peel and honey. Drink this mixture half an hour before going to bed.
* For joint problems: Grate two parts and ginseng juice mixed with two parts of the rubber tree (this material can be purchased at Chinese drug store), mix with water and drink this mixture on an empty stomach (before meals).
* For indigestion / upset stomach: Mix one part of Astragalus hoantschy and ginseng in two parts in warm water. Drink this mixture before meals.
* For a fever: Boil 36 grams of ginseng in two cups of water until the water remains one glass. Drinking this herbal drink may soon lead to sweating.
